Data scientists provide high quality data science services and software to scientists and the forest industry. Working collaboratively with scientists and industry stakeholders to identify, evaluate, design and implement data analytics solutions, including applying data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, visualisation and distributed computing techniques. Data scientists will revolutionise how forestry operates by automation of forestry processes and bringing insights into our science through big data analysis using various ML and DL algorithms.

Data scientists have an advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
Skills required include:
- statistical and analytical mathematical skills
- advanced Python programming skills with machine learning libraries
- excellent writing and presentation skills
- attention to detail and patience.
