There has never been a better time to join the forest industry!
The New Zealand forest industry is growing rapidly. There are employment opportunities at all levels for people keen to move across from other sectors into forestry.
Examples of transferable skills include:
- environmental management
- machine operation
- GIS and data analysis
- administration and finance.
And there are always entry-level opportunities for people prepared to work in physical outdoor jobs such as forest harvesting, tree establishment and silviculture (pruning and thinning).
