MICROBIOLOGIST/MICROSCOPY SCIENTIST
A microscopy scientist in forestry may utilise a number of specialist techniques to explore plant or wood cellular structure and function. The research component involves the study of biological structures in well-equipped laboratories with advanced technology to help them explore complex cell structures and their particular functions.
The equipment may include scanning electron microscopes, confocal microscopes, computers with specific software that allows them to analyse obtained data, and many more.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Generally microbiologists will have a minimum of an Honours degree in science, and will most likely have a postgraduate degree (masters or doctorate) specialised in microscopy. Skills required include:
